Basic and Clinical Science Anaesthesia Course (BCSAC 2020)

The Basic and Clinical Science Anaesthesia Course (BcSAC) is intended as one of the tools suitable for the preparation of the European Diploma in Anaesthesiology and Intensive Care by improving the candidate’s understanding and knowledge of different areas of basic and clinical sciences.

The course is an expansion of the well-established Basic Science Anaesthesia Course (BSAC) which has been successfully run since 2012 with the introduction of the clinical component in 2020.

The course will run in parallel to Euroanaesthesia 2020 in Barcelona between Friday afternoon 29th of May and Monday 1st of June 2020. Participants can attend the Inaugural Ceremonies and a number of industry-sponsored sessions during lunch breaks. However, they may not attend any other congress sessions.

Participants must attend the entire course in order to be able to sit the formative On-Line Assessment (OLA) and obtain the Certificate of Attendance with the CME Credits.

Registration and all course correspondence (including any course material) will be sent by electronic mail only. Each candidate must provide a valid and personal e-mail address. Candidates have to pre-register as onsite registration is not possible.

Who can attend?

Only ESA Members can participate in the BCSAC 2020 (membership period must be valid for the year 2020 and be of one of the following types: Active, Active from a reduced fee country, Affiliate or Trainee Membership).

What should you bring to the course?

You must bring a laptop that has an Ethernet port as well as its charger to the course. You will need to use your own laptop to take the formative On-Line Assessment (OLA); no laptops will be provided by the organisers. If you need a power adapter, please bring one with you.

Please make sure that the internet browser you will be using during the OLA is up-to-date. Tablet PCs or smartphones cannot be used to take the OLA.

Participant cancellation of registration

The Participant can request, under exceptional circumstances, to cancel an order and obtain a refund for Basic and Clinical Science Anaesthesia Course registration, including related site event registrations made on the ESA Website, or on any registration website related to the ESA, before the registration deadline. Requests will be reviewed on a case by case basis.
