Priority medical topics are related to health, demographic change and wellbeing, in particular those with a high economic and societal cost. Thus, ageing populations, chronic conditions and multi-morbidity, non-communicable diseases, as well as antimicrobial resistance and infectious diseases are central themes for attracting funding.
